Organising short-term courses under QIP for faculty members of engineering institutions is supported by the AICTE. These courses open up avenues in which the institute’s faculty members with rich experience in new and upcoming areas can share their expertise with others. Under this programme, 19 courses (with a total duration of 19 weeks) were conducted during 2016–2017 and a total of 513 teachers of engineering institutions have participated in these programmes. From 1970–1971 to 2016–2017, 384 such programmes have been conducted, and 9351 teachers from various engineering colleges have participated and benefited from these courses.
Proposals for conducting AICTE - STCs will be requested by CCE in the beginning of every financial year. Faculty members are requested to submit their proposals in the prescribed proforma given below. These proposals will be evaluated by a committee and approved for funding. The number of proposals approved each year is around 20. This number depends on the availability of funds from AICTE. The AICTE - STCs are generally of one week duration. However a few two week courses also may be permitted.
